All Creatures Great And Small...

God loved the birds and created trees. Man loved the birds and invented cages. As human beings become increasingly aware of the similarities between us and our furry (as well as feathered, fishy,and scaly) friends, the calls for tougher sanctions against those who maltreat animals have become louder than ever. While stories about kitten killers and puppy bashers may raise our ire, the sad fact is that many cases of animal cruelty are not brought to our attention because they are committed under the veneer of utility.
